The Cap City Cougars won their first-ever state semifinal game, 3-2 in overtime over the Fond du Lac/Beaver Dam Warbirds, to advance to the state championship against the top-ranked Eau Claire Area Stars.

The winner in girl's hockey will be a first-time state champion.

Eau Claire has a chance to make some history if they sweep the boy's and girl's hockey championships, as Eau Claire Memorial will represent the city in the boy's side of the state championship bracket following a 2-1 overtime win over the Waukesha Wings. They'll meet defending champion Hudson for the third time this season in an all-Big Rivers final after Hudson downed Verona 4-1 in the state semifinals.

You can hear both of the state championship games on iHeartRadio on Saturday beginning at noon in a double-header by going here or by searching for "98.7 The Brew" or "The Brew Eau Claire" to listen to the games.
