McFarland's softball team had a great season in 2017, winning the Rock Valley North behind the prowess on the mound of Mia Hoveland, who won player of the year honors in the conference and who will return as a senior for the Spartans. Now, the Spartans have their sights set on even bigger things in 2018, behind that strong senior class. Coach Dave Halverson discusses those subjects, as well as how he believes the combined Rock Valley Conference will benefit McFarland because of the difficulty of the schedule and the conference as a whole, and what it's like to practice in the ever-changing weather conditions of Wisconsin.
