If you were wondering what former Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema was up to, he turned up this past weekend working with the New England Patriots for their rookie minicamp.
Bielema acted as a consultant during the NFL Draft's evaluation process for the Patriots, given his college football experience from recent head coaching stops in Arkansas and Wisconsin.
According to 24/7 Sports, Bielema has been showing up to events wearing team gear, further solidifying the rumors that he's well on his way to a role with the Patriots.
ESPN's Field Yates reported last week that Bielema was expected to continue his work with the team through their rookie minicamp:
Former Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema has continued to work for the Patriots after the draft. Look for him to be involved with coaching duties as the team begins its rookie minicamp tomorrow.— Field Yates (@FieldYates) May 10, 2018
Bielema was fired this past offseason from Arkansas. No official announcement has been made by the New England Patriots about Bielema's role with the team.
