Michael Harris ready for first game as Madison Memorial coach

posted by Jimmie Kaska -

Former Madison La Follette coach Michael Harris is ready to coach his alma mater, Madison Memorial, in his first game at the helm as the Spartans take on defending Big 8 champion Sun Prairie.

Harris believes the key to competing with Sun Prairie is to effectively run the ball. Last year, the Spartans struggled in both meetings to move the ball down the field against the Cardinals, resulting in two lopsided losses, including a playoff shutout.

There's excitement in camp for Madison Memorial, considering they bring back a good core of players entering their senior and junior seasons, and return top talent such as Jeremiah Jordan, Mike Cerniglia, Sam Jessup, Cam Bott, and Jason Ceniti.

WFCA Hall of Fame and state champion coach Mike Stassi talks to Coach Harris ahead of Friday night's Madison Memorial-Sun Prairie game, which you can hear on The Big 1070 as part of our Madison Taxi Game of the Week series:
