Assist with flood relief efforts at Wisconsin Heights athletic events

posted by Jimmie Kaska -

At Thursday night's football game and Friday night's soccer match, there will be opportunities to assist with flood relief efforts in Mazomanie and Black Earth at Wisconsin Heights athletic events.

Western Dane County was hit with record-setting rainfall earlier this week, which has triggered ongoing flooding across the area. Mazomanie and Black Earth were hit particularly hard by the flooding, with aerial imagery showing most of Mazomanie under water the day after the rains fell.

From the post by the Wisconsin Heights school district:

Our Wisconsin Heights football team will be hosting Port Edwards tonight at 6:00. This will be a great opportunity for our communities to gather for support and enjoy watching our student-athletes in action. So many of our families and businesses were impacted by the flooding this week, so we will use this opportunity to help those in need. Here are a few ways that you can help provide relief to our families:

* First Student will be donating a bus so we can fill it with non-perishable food items to help re-stock the food pantries in Mazomanie and Black Earth

* Instead of admission, we will be accepting monetary donations

* All proceeds from the 50/50 raffle will be donated to flood relief

* The FFA will donate all profits from concessions sales

We will also be continuing the food drive at our soccer match tomorrow at 5:00 against DeForest. Our student-athletes would love the support and appreciate any time you are able to give to cheer them on!
