After two thrilling wins over Sun Prairie and Middleton in the first four weeks of the season, the Madison Memorial Spartans are all alone in first place in the Big 8, and play for Burt Hable's Clipboard this Friday against Madison West.
The Spartans have the better record this year, but coach Mike Harris, in his first year at his alma mater as head coach, believes West is better than their 1-3 record would indicate, pointing to some of the athletes the Regents have and that a young team takes time to develop. That means as the season wears on, the Regents will be gaining experience and should be better than they were at the start of the year.
