Oakfield is one of eight teams selected to the first-ever 8-Player football playoffs in Wisconsin, and the one-loss Oaks draw a tough opponent in Sevastopol to get the postseason underway this week.
Coach Corey Rickert says that the playoff should help grow the sport in Wisconsin, now that there's a WIAA-sanctioned playoff in place for the first time ever for 8-player football. As for Oakfield, a team that started the year very young and inexperienced still managed to put together a great season, the only blemish coming against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, a team they had defeated handily earlier in the season.
Oakfield is a #3 seed against Sevastopol in this week's playoff opener.
