Waunakee prepares to face rival DeForest for second time this year

Waunakee's 24-game winning streak is on the line when they face rival DeForest in Level 2 of the high school football playoffs on Friday night. The game will be broadcast on The Big 1070.

Waunakee defeated DeForest 31-7 in the regular season, pulling away down the stretch. However, the game marked one of the stiffest challenges for the Warriors this season.

Coach Pat Rice notes that while the team has been winning this year, there's not a great margin for error as perhaps would be with past teams. That means the Warriors, who have relied on a defense that's only allowed 34 points this year to compile a 10-0 record, will need to play even better in the postseason to keep their streak going, and their title defense alive.
