Waunakee coach Pat Rice reflects on Level 3 win over Monona Grove

Waunakee coach Pat Rice joined The Big 1070's broadcast on Friday night following the Warriors' 33-7 win over the Monona Grove Silver Eagles to discuss the win and the big performances on both sides of the ball as Waunakee won their 26th game in a row.

Rice called the first two playoff games eye-openers, particularly last week's 23-20 win over DeForest that nearly ended in an upset. He also said that Monona Grove was an incredible challenge, but the entire week of preparation was spent on finding ways to slow down a prolific Silver Eagles attack that racks up 500 yards on a near-weekly basis. Waunakee kept Monona Grove under 100 yards until a late drive by the Silver Eagles that resulted in their only points of the game to avert the shutout.

Waunakee faces Brookfield Central in Level 4 of the high school football playoffs, a rematch from last year's Division 2 title game. You can hear the game on The Big 1070 on Friday night in our Game of the Week.
