Marquette rallies, defeats Providence 79-68 on Dwyane Wade Day

On a day to honor Marquette great Dwyane Wade, the Golden Eagles dug deep to come back and defeat Providence 79-68 on Sunday. Marquette is undefeated (13-0) at Fiserv Forum this season.

Sam Hauser led Marquette with 25 points, while Markus Howard scored 24. Joey Hauser added 11 points, with Ed Morrow contributing nine in the win.

Providence was led in scoring by Nate Watson with 21 points. Alpha Diallo had 16 for the Friars.

Dwyane Wade, who has primarily played for the Miami Heat during his career, was honored on Sunday for his legacy in basketball. You can see the presentation below.

Marquette is back at Fiserv Forum on Wednesday to play DePaul. The Golden Eagles are a half-game back of Villanova for the Big East lead and two games up on three teams, including DePaul, for second place.
