Markus Howard drops 51 as Marquette defeats USC 101-79

For the third timer, Markus Howard scored 50 points or more in a game, lighting up USC for 51 points on Friday in Marquette's 101-79 victory in the Orlando Invitational semifinals.

Howard, who scored 40 points in a win over Davidson in the first game of the event, has led Marquette to the Orlando Invitational Championship against #5 Maryland on Saturday with an event-record 91 points in two games.

It's also the first time in Big East history a player has scored 40 or more points in back-to-back games.

Greg Elliott added 11 points for the Golden Eagles, who improved to 5-1 on the season.
