Pitching, Eric Thames lift Brewers to series win over Reds

Milwaukee's pitching and Eric Thames' hot bat helped the Brewers to wins in their last two games, beating the Cincinnati Reds 2-0 on back-to-back days to win the series 2-1.

Brewers catcher Jett Bandy has been impressed with Thames as of late, calling his play "unconscious" as Thames blasted two-run home runs in each game to provide all of the scoring for Milwaukee in their wins over the Reds.

Manager Craig Counsell is happy with how the pitching staff has found something that works. That is despite losing All-Star closer Corey Knebel to the DL and fielding questions about the depth of the rotation heading into the season.
