Eric Thames suffered a ligament tear in his thumb, and was placed on the 10-day DL on Wednesday. The Milwaukee Brewers confirmed that the first baseman could miss 6-8 weeks.
Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported on the story, citing Brewers manager David Stearns in terms of the timeline for return from the UCL tear.
Stearns told Adam McCalvy of Brewers.com that he isn't sure whether or not Thames will require surgery.
