Lorenzo Cain hit a home run as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Colorado Rockies 5-2 on Thursday night.
Cain's home run came on the opening pitch of the game to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead early. Colorado answered with a home run of their own to tie it at one apiece, but Milwaukee would add another run in the third and three more in the fifth to finish their scoring.
Milwaukee's bullpen allowed only one hit while striking out six over 3 2/3 innings. Corey Knebel threw two strikeouts in the eighth and Jeremy Jeffress struck out the side in the ninth to earn a save.
The Brewers and Rockies play three more games in the series, continuing Friday night.
