Brewers top Reds 6-4 to win opener in four-game series

Eric Thames and Jesús Aguilar each hit home runs as the Milwaukee Brewers went on the road and won game one of a four-game series with the Cincinnati Reds 6-4 on Thursday night.

Thames' home run was the eventual game-winner, putting the Brewers up by one run in the top of the seventh inning. Taylor Williams, Jeremy Jeffress, and Corey Knebel collaborated on the final three innings to strike out five and close out the Reds.

Junior Guerra gave up four runs and eight hits in six innings pitched, but struck out six.

Milwaukee was actually out-hit in the game nine to eight, but still managed to win thanks to timely hitting.
