Brewers fall in extra innings to Rockies 5-4 on Sunday

Nolan Arenado put the Rockies up in the top of the 11th, and Colorado hung on to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-4 on Sunday afternoon.

Arenado's solo home run helped the Rockies recover after the Brewers tied the game at four apiece in the bottom of the ninth inning, nearly spoiling an outstanding eight-inning effort from starter Jon Gray.

Wade Miley went five innings for the Brewers, allowing three runs. Milwaukee used six pitchers in the game, including Corey Knebel, who pitched each extra-innings frame for the Brewers and gave up the home run to Arenado.

Milwaukee won the series, two games to one, but still trail the Chicago Cubs by a game in the NL Central.
