Brewers take final game of Reds series, win 4-0 Wednesday

The Brewers are now winners of three of their last four, beating the Reds 4-0 on Wednesday to take the series and stay in playoff position heading into the weekend.

Freddy Peralta threw seven scoreless innings, giving up just three hits and striking out seven. Taylor Williams and Jeremy Jeffress combined for two shutout innings.

Christian Yelich hit a home run and the Brewers collected 14 hits (four of them by Yelich) in the victory.

Milwaukee entered the day with a half game lead for the final Wild Card spot, and will stay in playoff position for at least one day. Milwaukee takes on Pittsburgh this weekend at Miller Park for a three-game series.
