Craig Counsell on Game 1 Win: "It Worked the Way We Wanted"

Craig Counsell said after the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Colorado Rockies in 10 innings, 3-2, that the game went the way the Brewers wanted, even though the ninth inning didn't go Milwaukee's way. The Brewers took Game 1 of the NLDS.

Counsell spoke highly of Jeremy Jeffress, who gave up three hits and two runs as the Rockies rallied to tie the game in the top of the ninth inning. Counsell said that Jeffress did a great job of keeping the game tied considering the circumstances.

As far as the pitching plan in the game, Counsell thought all of his pitchers performed "beautifully" and it put the team in a good spot late in the game.

Game 2 is Friday at Miller Park, with a 3:15 p.m. CDT first pitch. Jhoulys Chacin pitches for Milwaukee.
