Yelich's monster blast not enough to lift Brewers in 7-1 loss

Christian Yelich extended his hitting streak to 17 games with a mammoth 462-foot home run, but the Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Cincinnati Reds 7-1 at Miller Park on Thursday night.

The Reds have now won five in a row, while the Brewers have dropped six of their past seven games.

Yelich collected two of the Brewers' five hits in the loss. Cincinnati racked up 10 hits against Jimmy Nelson and Freddy Peralta. Nelson in particular had some struggles, giving up seven hits, four walks, and five runs in the loss in five innings of work.

The four-game series continues Friday night at Miller Park.
