Thames' walk-off HR delivers Brewers 6-5 win Friday

Eric Thames hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Milwaukee Brewers a 6-5 win over the Texas Rangers at Miller Park on Friday night.

Milwaukee held a 5-2 lead going into the eighth inning, but Jake Faria and Josh Hader allowed three runs to come across in the two innings to tie the game.

Gio Gonzalez pitched five innings and allowed just two runs.

The Brewers won again without Christian Yelich, who is dealing with a sore back.

Milwaukee has now won four in a row and will take on the Rangers again on Saturday in game two of a three-game series.
