Brewers win rain-shortened game Wednesday over Cardinals 5-3

Milwaukee's 5-0 lead held as the Brewers took the final game of a three-game series to avoid a sweep at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals with a 5-3 win in seven and a half innings, as the game was shortened due to rain.

Mike Moustakas hit a three-run home run in the first inning to put the Brewers up 4-0, and the bullpen got a break as Milwaukee didn't need to put anyone on the mound for what may have been the two final innings of work. The Brewers used five pitchers in the game behind starter Adrian Houser, who pitched into the sixth inning.

The Brewers will have the day off before returning home for six games, three apiece against the Diamondbacks and Cardinals.
