State Wrestling Preview with Nate Woelfel of WisSports.net

Nate Woelfel of WisSports.net previews the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament that begins Thursday in Madison at the Kohl Center.

In addition to a division-by-division breakdown, Nate takes a look at a pair of wrestlers going for a four-peat, something achieved only 16 times in state history. Also, the state tournament bracket offers some true win-or-go-home moments in the preliminaries on Thursday, meaning four wrestlers in every weight class in every division will be eliminated in their very first state match.

Nate also follows up on the Hayden Halter story, after a judge reinstated his eligibility for the WIAA State Tournament. Halter is going for his second straight title. Nate discusses a very difficult situation that has drawn in opinions from even those who don't normally follow wrestling, if high school sports at all.

The WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament begins Thursday afternoon. Nate Woelfel will have coverage at WisSports.net for the entire state tournament (click here).
