Boys Hoops: Friday's regional semifinal winners

Friday night's regional semifinals had a few upsets along the way, but area #1 seeds Madison East, Mount Horeb, and Darlington were among the winners to move on to Saturday's regional finals.

Division 1's upset came with #11 Janesville Craig upending #6 Middleton, but for area teams, it otherwise went chalk. Some of Saturday's rematches include #5 Madison Memorial at #4 Sun Prairie and #11 Janesville Craig at #3 Madison La Follette.

In Division 2, there were two upsets by seeding. Badger South champ #5 Monona Grove took down #4 Oregon, setting up a Badger Conference championship game of sorts when the Silver Eagles meet #1 Mount Horeb on Saturday, as the Vikings pulled away from #8 Monroe in the second half to the tune of a 65-49 victory. #6 Reedsburg got past #3 McFarland on the other side of the bracket, and will rematch with #2 DeForest. The bottom half of Sectional 3 went chalk.

One of the state's highest seeds to fall on Friday was #2 Platteville, losing to #7 Marshall 70-68. In Sectional 4, #6 Columbus got past #3 Lomira 63-55, while #12 Ripon's upset tour continued with a 65-43 shellacking of #4 Luther Prep.

The absolutely loaded Division 4, Sectional 3 went chalk, setting up some huge rematches on Saturday, including a second go-round with #3 Mineral Point and #2 New Glarus and #4 Fennimore battling #1 Darlington. #11 Cambridge upset #3 Markesan on the bottom half of the sectional 54-40.
