In Division 1, Sectional 3, #9 Verona got past #8 Oregon 4-1. Verona will see defending D1 champ Waunakee, the #1 seed, Thursday night. #5 Madison Memorial trounced #12 Madison La Follette 10-0 in six innings and will see #4 Middleton on Thursday up Gammon Road a couple of miles. #11 Madison East upset #6 Watertown on the bottom half of the bracket 5-3 and will face #3 Madison West Thursday, while #7 DeForest took care of Badger North rival #10 Beaver Dam 5-2 to move on to face Sun Prairie on Thursday.
The Division 1, Sectional 5 play-in round had two area teams in action, as #9 Janesville Parker defeated #8 Mukwonago 6-1. Their reward will be a chance to see cross-town rival and the state's #1 team Janesville Craig on Thursday night. On the other side of the bracket, #12 Beloit Memorial got beat by #5 Arrowhead 5-1.
Division 2, Sectional 3 had an upset at the top, with #4 Wisconsin Dells defeating #1 Reedsburg 2-1 in eight innings to move on to Wednesday's regional final. #2 Adams-Friendship outlasted #6 Lodi 4-3 on the other side of the bracket, setting up a regional final Wednesday night at Adams-Friendship between Wisconsin Dells and Adams-Friendship of the South Central Conference. #1 Edgewood defeated #4 Sauk Prairie 4-1, while #3 Mount Horeb took down #2 Monona Grove 7-4, so Edgewood and Mount Horeb will meet at Stampfl Field in Verona (since Edgewood's home field, Warner Park, is being used by its normal tenants, the Madison Mallards) on Wednesday.
In the bottom half of the D2-Sectional 3 bracket, it was chalk in one regional, with #1 Turner edging #4 Edgerton 9-8 and #2 McFarland getting past #3 Evansville 6-1 in a glorified Rock Valley Conference Tournament. Now, Turner plays McFarland on Wednesday in a regional final. In the bottom half of the bracket, however, #5 Elkhorn upset #1 Lake Mils 3-2, while #7 Big Foot took down #3 Jefferson 1-0 in nine innings. Elkhorn will host Wednesday's regional final.
