Our countdown of our top high school football game broadcasts of 2018 continues today with a wild playoff-opening contest between Sun Prairie and Middleton. Sun Prairie managed to hang on for a 42-36 victory in a fast-paced, high-scoring game:
One of the craziest, highlight-filled football games of the entire high school football season unfolded in Level 1 of the WIAA playoffs at Ashley Field in Sun Prairie. Sun Prairie and Middleton traded blows to the very end, butSun Prairie won over Middletonfor the second time this season, 42-36.
For Middleton, they scored on some huge plays in the game, including a 97-yard kick return TD, a 63-yard rushing TD, and a 60-yard receiving TD by Kallion Buckner. Kevin Meicher had a 96-yard kickoff return for a score as well.
For Sun Prairie, they scored on a pick-six by Adam Rademacher (who also recorded a safety), and Richie Gilles threw for 325 yards and touchdowns to Ethan Ackley and Colin Schaefer, as well as a rushing touchdown, and Nathan Schauer got 193 yards on 30 carries with a score as well.
