After winning three games each of the last three years, Milton has already achieved that mark in three games in 2019, out-scoring their opponents 136-22 en route to a 3-0 start under new head football coach Rodney Wedig.
Milton has blown out Baraboo, Mount Horeb/Barneveld, and Fort Atkinson to start the year, but now the Red Hawks enter the gauntlet part of their schedule. Two fo the next three and four of their remaining six games are on the road, and they will see three of the top four 2018 Badger South finishers the next three weeks.
This Friday, the Red Hawks get Monona Grove, the conference champion from the past two seasons and a perennial power in Wisconsin. Coach Wedig said that the Silver Eagles present some challenges to his squad, namely that Monona Grove possesses good team speed, something that will be of importance, especially on defense, on Friday night.
