Deerfield football to host annual Awareness Game this Friday night

For the past several years, Deerfield's football program hosts an annual Awareness Night, to raise funds and awareness for causes within the community. Friday's game against Fall River/Rio will help benefit Susan G. Komen breast cancer research.

In the past, Awareness Night has helped out other local charities, such as UW Health's Children's Hospital. Coach Derek Sweger sees it as a way to show his players how they can help their communities and become aware of some very important issues they may have to face in adulthood.

The Demons will play Fall River/Rio on Friday night. Coach Derek Sweger talked about Awareness Night and the 2019 Deerfield Demons on The Prep Report on The Big 1070:
