La Follette football jumps to #9 in state rankings thanks to 5-1 start

After a win over Sun Prairie in Week 6, Madison La Follette began a tough part of their schedule with a big win, improving to 5-1 on the year and #9 in the state coaches poll.

Coach Scott Swanson credits a veteran-laden team and his leadership committee for setting the tone this year that the goal was to make the playoffs on their own, which they have now done with their fifth conference win. The past two years, La Follette has gotten in as a 4-5 team.

Coach Swanson joined The Big 1070 and its weekly coverage to preview the match-up with Verona on their Homecoming Friday night, which will be heard on The Big 1070.
