WIAA Boys Soccer Tournament crowns regional champions Saturday

The WIAA Boys Soccer Tournament moves on to sectional play next week after regional champions were crowned Saturday across Wisconsin.

Division 1 saw one #1 seed go down, as Green Bay Preble knocked off Bay Port on penalty kicks to move on. Eau Claire Memorial, Marquette, Verona, and Racine Case all advanced as well. One Big 8 team in the Madison area will make it out of a group of four schools: Verona, Middleton, Madison East, and Madison West, as all four claimed regional titles.

Onalaska, Hortonville, Brookfield East, Elkhorn, and Wauwatosa West all advanced as top seeds in a chalky Division 2, which saw just one upset in regional finals play: #6 Wauwatosa East winning 0-0 (4-3) over Greendale.

Rice Lake, Waupaca, Seymour, McFarland, and Shorewood kept the top line for Division 3. In Division 4, upsets galore across the bracket, which already saw a #17 upset a #1 seed earlier in the week. #4 Washburn/Bayfield/South Shore defeated top seed Barron, #10 seed Dominican took down #2 University School, and #9 Wayland Academy moved on over #17 St. John's NW Military Academy.
