WIAC Tournament Seeding Update

As of today, the WIAC Tournament would be (1) River Falls, (2) Whitewater, (3) Oshkosh, (4) Eau Claire, (5) Stout, (6) La Crosse. (6) plays at (3) and (5) plays at (4) in the opening round, with the highest seed remaining playing at (2) and the lowest seed remaining playing at (1) in the semifinals. The highest seed hosts the WIAC Championship for an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

*In Men's Basketball, Stevens Point is under a postseason ban, so they won't participate in the WIAC Tournament. However, their season results do count in tie-breaking scenarios.

Whitewater, Oshkosh tied at 5-3

-First tiebreaker is head-to-head. Whitewater beat Oshkosh; they become the number two seed, while Oshkosh is the number three seed.

Stout, Eau Claire tied at 4-4

-First tiebreaker is head-to-head. Eau Claire beat Stout; they become the number four seed, while Stout is the number five seed.

-The first tiebreaker is head-to-head. Since Whitewater beat Oshkosh, Whitewater is the number one seed and Oshkosh the number two.

Eau Claire, La Crosse tied at 4-4

-The first tiebreaker is head-to-head. La Crosse beat Eau Claire, so La Crosse is the fourth seed and Eau Claire the fifth seed.

Stout, Platteville tied at 2-6

-The first tiebreaker is head-to-head. Stout is 2-0 against Platteville, so Stout is the sixth seed while Platteville is in seventh place.

Men's Basketball at Platteville (7pm): #21 Whitewater (16-3, 5-3) eked out a two-point win over Platteville (8-11, 1-7) in the first meeting. The Warhawks could stay in front for a first-round WIAC Tournament bye with a win.

Women's Basketball at Whitewater (7pm): #19 Whitewater (17-2, 7-1) looks to make its charge in the second half and keep pace with Oshkosh. Platteville (6-13, 2-6) is battling for a postseason spot with River Falls and Stout. Whitewater won the first meeting by five.

Men's Basketball at River Falls (7pm): #4 River Falls (18-1, 8-0) hung 91 on La Crosse (10-9, 2-6) in their first meeting. La Crosse looks to remain a game up on Platteville for the final WIAC Tournament slot.

Women's Basketball at La Crosse (7pm): La Crosse (10-9, 4-4) had a big defensive effort in a 57-44 win over River Falls (6-13, 1-7) in the first meeting. River Falls is a game behind for a WIAC Tournament spot.

Men's Basketball at Oshkosh (7pm): Oshkosh (12-7, 5-3) has charged up the standings thanks to a win over then-#17 Eau Claire last week. They'll get Stevens Point (9-9, 3-5), as the Pointers try to wrap up their final six games on a high note. Oshkosh won the first match-up.

Women's Basketball at Stevens Point (7pm): One of the biggest games of the season has #16 Oshkosh (17-2, 7-1) trying to hang on to a top spot in the WIAC against #RV Stevens Point (13-6, 5-3), who took down Whitewater a couple weeks ago. Oshkosh won the first game.

Men's Basketball at Stout (7pm): #25 Eau Claire (14-5, 4-4) has been up and down during conference play, losing to Oshkosh this past week. Stout (13-6, 4-4) was drubbed in the first game between these teams a couple weeks ago, but can take a big step forward with a win here.

Women's Basketball at Eau Claire (7pm): Eau Claire (10-9, 4-4) is playing for a home WIAC Tournament game, while Stout (6-13, 2-6) is playing to stay in the top six. Eau Claire took the first meeting.
