“Get Back In The Game” Officials’ Recruitment Fair

MADISON, Wis.--The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced today that an Officials’ Recruitment Fair will be held on Thursday, April 13 at UW-Eau Claire beginning at 7:00 p.m. The fair is a collaborative effort on the part of the WIAC, the WIAA and the National Association of Sports Officials (NASO). 

The purpose of the fair is to share information about officiating with individuals who have an interest in becoming a sports official regardless of the sport. Topics will include: Expectations, responsibilities and benefits associated with officiating, how to get started in officiating, and the various levels and opportunities of officiating.

Featured speakers will include: Gary Karner, WIAC Commissioner; Joan Gralla, WIAA; Tom Fiedler, WIAC Football/Men’s Basketball Officiating Coordinator & Big Ten Football Replay Official: Ken Koester, National Association of Sports Officials, and Jon Lucivansky, NFL Official.

While there is no charge to attend the fair, interested individuals are requested to RSVP to Michael Salm (WIAC Conference Office) no later than April 10 at msalm@uwsa.edu or 608-263-7683.
