Area Football Playoff Brackets Announced

All Football Pairings - Go Here

Division 1

Group C

Madison Memorial (#8) at Sun Prairie (#1)

Kettle Moraine (#5) at Verona Area (#4)

Hamilton (#6) at Madison West (#3)

Madison La Follette (#7) at Middleton (#2)

-Kettle Moraine on the road is a really interesting note, but with six Big 8 schools, it shouldn't be a shocker to see the seeding shake out how it did. It's also not surprising to see the full two possible non-Big 8 rematches off the bat--Big 8 coaches had wanted some diversity in their playoff match-ups, and got it here. Also, Madison Memorial as the 8 and La Follette at the 7 perhaps was done to avoid the same Level 1 match-up as last year.

Division 2

Group B

Beaver Dam (#8) at Waunakee (#1)

DeForest (#5) at Slinger (#4)

West Bend East (#6) at Hartford Union (#3)

 Watertown (#7) at Menasha (#2)

-The Little Ten invitational set up sort of as expected. 3-5 was kind of a jumble, but this bracket sets up well for Waunakee. They've already handled Beaver Dam (last week, a shutout win) and DeForest. The Norskies are a pretty good team, but they'll have their hands full with Slinger. Menasha vs Watertown is intriguing as well.

Group C

Wilmot Union (#8) at Monona Grove (#1)

Burlington (#5) at Waterford (#4)

Oregon (#6) at Stoughton (#3)

Germantown (#7) at Waukesha West (#2)

-The Oregon/Stoughton rematch, a three-point game less than a month ago, is a highlight here, but Burlington/Waterford is another good match-up. Monona Grove and Waukesha West played in an epic Level 3 game last year, and if it goes chalk, it would be a rematch at that level.

Division 3

Group C

Monroe (#8) at New Berlin Eisenhower (#1)

Jefferson (#5) at Pewaukee (#4)

Evansville / Albany (#6) at Mount Horeb / Barneveld (#3)

East Troy (#7) at Catholic Memorial (#2)

-This one broke about as expected. The Rock Valley doesn't get a lot of love in seeding meetings typically, and it shows here. 8-1 Jefferson hits the road. However, it should be noted that the top six teams in this group had no more than 3 losses, and is incredibly deep top to bottom, so it may not necessarily be a Rock Valley issue.

Division 4

Group C

Mayville (#8) at Lodi (#1) @Lodi

Turner (#5) at Platteville (#4)

Lakeside Lutheran (#6) at Lake Mills (#3)

River Valley (#7) at Racine Saint Catherine’s (#2) @Racine Saint Catherine’s

-A really difficult grouping, Lodi and Lake Mills would potentially avoid each other until Level 3, but having Racine St. Catherine's here complicates a future showdown.
