Officers who stopped Middleton shooter honored as “Hometown Heroes”

The Wisconsin State Assembly honored four “Hometown Heroes” for their actions during a workplace shooting at a Middleton software company in September, 2019.The program honored Middleton police officers Tyler Loether, Richard O’Connor, and Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies Matthew Earll, and David Lambrecht. All responded quickly when WTS Paradigm employee Anthony Tong started shooting his co-workers.These four men were some of the first ones on scene to take down Tong who refused to drop his weapon.“Very instinctive, when we walked into the room our training kicked in it felt automatic,” said David Lambrecht, Dane County Sheriff Deputy. They were honored with the “Hometown Hero” award for their bravery and quick instincts. The four man are giving credit to those who survived.
