Aaron Rodgers' unique contract situation with the Green Bay Packers could result in a groundbreaking deal in the NFL, according to NBC Sports' Peter King.
Rodgers, 34, is still under contract for two more seasons (and the Packers could franchise tag the quarterback for another two seasons after), but rumors of a contract extension or reworked deal have been out there all offseason. Even coming off of a serious injury, which showed what life without Rodgers would look like for the Packers, it's clear that there is an investment that could be made in the franchise quarterback for the next few years.
With other quarterbacks signing megabucks deals, Rodgers would appear to be due, based on those other deals, for a raise, but King hints it could be the sort of contract that changes how teams and quarterbacks do business.
