Green Bay Packers suffer miserable loss to Washington, 31-17

Drops, penalties, controversy, injuries, mistakes. Coach Mike McCarthy says the Packers need to clean their own house after a miserable loss to Washington on Sunday, 31-17.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 265 yards and touchdowns to Geronimo Allison and Davante Adams, but penalties and drops in clutch moments greatly reduced the efforts of the offense, including a late fumble by Randall Cobb that all but ended the Packers' hopes.

Green Bay suffered a number of injuries up front, and that further limited what Rodgers and the offense could do.

The defense gave up 28 points in the first half, a deficit the Packers could not come back from, although Green Bay adjusted to give the Packers a chance in the second half.

This is all without mentioning the controversial call on Clay Matthews, but the Packers struggled with penalties all game long.
