Packers to sign Ravens LB Za'Darius Smith

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says that the Packers will be signing Ravens edge rusher Za'Darius Smith when free agency opens on Wednesday.

Rapoport made the report Tuesday morning.

Smith played in 58 games with Baltimore, recording 18.5 sacks over four seasons, including 8.5 in 2018, which led the Ravens.

ESPN's Rob Demovsky writes that Smith's departure from the Ravens is just the latest in a series of former Baltimore players leaving from last year's team for big deals elsewhere. Demovsky adds in his piece that his efficiency numbers via Pro Football Focus put him in the same category as other edge rushers available on the trade market or free agency, such as Kansas City's Dee Ford.

Smith was a fourth-round pick in 2015. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

Green Bay also reportedly signed Bears safety Adrian Amos.
