Packers will play starters in preseason game Thursday

While it might only be for a quarter or so, the Green Bay Packers are set to play their starters in their second preseason game Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens.

Maggie Loney of Cheesehead TV writes that it'll be the debut for several new Packers players:

Players like Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, and Aaron Jones should all see action for the offense while free agent acquisitions Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith, and Adrian Amos likely will all make their Packers debuts on defense.

It'll also be an important game for some of the players hoping to make the team, in that they can build upon their successes in the Packers' first preseason game:

Other Packers to keep an eye on heading into Preseason Week 2 include Ka’dar Hollman, Chandon Sullivan, and Will Redmond on defense. All three roster hopefuls had big moments in their NFL debut that they’re hoping to build off of in Baltimore. On offense, watch the way the offensive line comes together.

As always, the goal in preseason is evaluation... and to avoid injuries. You can read the full breakdown at Cheesehead TV by clicking here.
