Wisconsin tight end Troy Fumagalli is the second Badger selected in the 2018 NFL Draft, going 156th overall to the Denver Broncos (in the 5th round).
Fumagalli had mid-round grades, but only a handful of tight ends were selected in the first three rounds. Several went in the fourth round, which pushed Fumagalli down a bit in the draft pecking order. However, Fumagalli brings balance as a pass-catcher and blocker to the Broncos offense: Wisconsin is a tight end factory, and Troy Fumagalli is regarded well enough to continue the tradition of productive former Badgers in the NFL at the position.
The first Badger to be selected was CB Nick Nelson by Oakland in the 4th round at #110 overall.
